Personal Statement
In May of 2006 a traumatic car accident caused me to go within myself for healing and wholeness. As a health professional, I understood the medicinal benefit of painting and so I began with art as physician, art as therapy, art as healer and road map back to health and strength. The canvas did not start as a palette for beauty or whimsy, but displayed a patients perspective; paint mixed with tears and some fear of never returning to my former self. The woman pre-trauma had long abandoned the brush for more “practical” discipline, but the rigor of life provided the pressure that produced the opportunity for more in depth personal discovery. While naming myself “Artist” was difficult at the onset, my passion for color enveloped me, pressed upon and pushed me, to see myself differently. This more self-actualized woman realized her true nature; untamed, organic, free of lines, free of limits, free to be an “Artist”. Tears soon turned to vibrant colors of incandescent light heralding the birth of purpose and passion that is Abstract Designs by C. Pyle. In viewing my art, join me in a journey of discovery, walk with me in Technicolor, feel the energy that healed and gave me purpose of life.
