I love to work in porcelain because it lends itself to simple and elegant forms.  I want to create pottery that evoke the moments of quiet and calm that I feel in the making.  My designs and forms are inspired by the graceful and flowing forms which I find in nature.

I have been a studio potter for more years than I care to admit and  am founding member of RavenRose Studio, in Chicago which closes its doors in June 2015 after 21 years of operation.  I look forward to a new place to work in Chicago.  I also maintain a personal studio in Belgium, WI,

This website is an archive of the types of work I produce.  My work can also be seen on Facebook under Yukiko Sakata Nyhan.
